Entry Requirements: A Bachelor of Architectural Studies, or an equivalent qualification, and a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA).
Aim of Qualification: MArch(Prof) graduates will know and understand the process for the design and procurement of buildings of all types, and subject to mandatory experience, be prepared for statutory registration as an architect in New Zealand. They will also be prepared for further study at doctoral level.
Contents: The MArch(Prof) is a professionally accredited programme in architecture with a focus on design as research, involving physical experimentation, technical expertise, environmental awareness, aesthetic proficiency, digital expertise, cultural literacy and design skills. The degree comprises professional practice, seminar and studio-based advanced design courses and requires the completion of a thesis.
Assessment: A thesis, studio projects, assignments, and for some courses, examinations.
